KUALA LUMPUR: The price of RON97 will increase by 10 sen per litre, while RON95 and diesel prices remain the same for the week, starting this Saturday.
According to a statement by the Finance Ministry (MOF) today, the retail price of RON95 and diesel remained at RM2.08 and RM2.18 per liter, respectively.
Based on the calculations under the Automated Price Mechanism formula (APM), the retail price of RON95 and diesel petrol products for that period should be RM2.37 per liter, respectively.
“However, retail prices for both products are maintained at RM2.08 per liter and RM2.18 per liter in line with the government’s decision to stabilize retail prices for petroleum products and reduce the cost of living,“ the statement said.
According to the statement, the estimate of subsidies to be borne by the government for July 20-26 was RM179.97 million. — Bernama
