SANDAKAN: Sabah Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) will ensure that their cooperation with the Parti Warisan Sabah-led government is strengthened for the sake of the people and development in the state.
Its information chief Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan who is also Batu Sapi division chief said, Sabah Bersatu was prepared to serve as the bridge for the federal government to work with the state government especially in efforts to stimulate the state’s economic activities.
“In Sabah the problem with development is not just in terms of infrastructure, but also its economy that has driven most of the people especially the young, to migrate from the rural areas in search of jobs,“ he told reporters after chairing the Batu Sapi division meeting here today.
He said that Sabah has the benefit of fertile soil that could be cultivated by young people in the state.
However he added, as the young people were not interested in agriculture, efforts to promote agriculture as a profitable career should be intensified.
Khairul Firdaus said that Bersatu Sabah supported the leadership of Chief Minister Mohd Shafie Apdal and was confident of his plans to accelerate the state’s economic development. — Bernama
