KUALA LUMPUR: The police arrested six men on suspicion of being involved in a syndicate allegedly distributing contraband liquor around the Klang Valley, in an operation conducted in Klang, recently.

The suspects comprised four locals and two Myanmar nationals aged between 28 and 37.

Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department (operations) deputy director Datuk Azri Ahmad said they also confiscated 482 boxes of contraband liquor of various brands worth RM85,320.

“Besides that, the police also seized three cars and a lorry with the total value of the seizures estimated to be RM285,320.

“All the suspects were remanded under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code at the North Klang District Police Headquarters and the case is being investigated under Section 135 (1) (e) of the Customs Act 1967 for further investigation,“ he said in a statement yesterday. -Bernama
