Tajikistan’s President conveys National Day wishes to Agong

KUALA LUMPUR: Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon has sent a congratulatory letter to Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah (pix) on the occasion of Malaysia’s National Day celebration on Aug 31.

“It is a great honour to sincerely congratulate Your Majesty on the occasion of the National Day of Malaysia,” the president noted in the letter made available to Bernama, today.

In the letter, the president expressed confidence that the friendly relationship and beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Malaysia would continue in various areas of mutual interest to promote the creative process of development and multifaceted cooperation.

Rahmon also wished Sultan Abdullah good health, new achievements and peace, as well as prosperity to the friendly people of Malaysia.

The president also expressed the republic’s readiness to mobilise the huge potential that both sides have for the development of mutually beneficial relations.

Malaysia will be celebrating its 62nd National day tomorrow after gaining independence in 1957.

This year’s theme ‘Sayangi Malaysiaku: Malaysia Bersih’ is to stress the importance of unity and patriotism for the well-being of the people and shared prosperity. — Bernama
