MUAR: Police detained three Indonesian nationals and seized 20 kg of syabu worth about RM1 million in an operation codenamed ‘Op Landai’ in Bukit Pasir, here last Saturday.

Region Two Marine Police commander ACP Abdul Rahman Mohamad said the three suspects, aged between 20 and 56, were detained in a hut located at a rubber plantation, at about 7am.

“Upon checking, police found a suspicious pile of soil under the hut. Further checks found packets of syabu weighing 20,000 g hidden in the soil,” he told a press conference at the Muar District Police Headquarters, here today.

Abdul Rahman said all the suspects who were tested positive for methamphetamine were remanded until Feb 8.

In another development, a 25-year-old man was detained for possession of a gun, bullets, a samurai sword and various types of drugs during a roadblock check at Jalan Bakri, here last Saturday.

Muar district police chief ACP Zaharudin Rasip said the suspect was detained in a Toyota Vios car at about 3am.

“Checks on the car found a gun, several bullets, a samurai sword as well as 19.04 g of heroin, 10 eramin 5 pills and five yaba pills in a bag hidden beneath the driver’s seat.

“The suspect who has no previous records is in remand for seven days until Jan 31,” he said. - Bernama
