KOTA BARU: Three siblings died after their car collided with another heading in the opposite direction along Jalan Tanah Merah-Pasir Mas in Bukit Tuku, Pasir Mas, this afternoon.
In the 1pm incident, Nurfatin Arina Mohd Asri, 23, who was driving a Perodua Myvi, died at the scene along with her youngest sister Anis Saraya, 10, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, while another sister, Haifa Amira, 22, died at the Pasir Mas Hospital.
Pasir Mas district police chief ACP Abdullah Mohammad Piah said the driver of a Proton Wira, Mohd Helmi Mustafa, 21, suffered serious injuries and was unconscious.
“The three victims from Kampung Bukit Gading, Tanah Merah, were on their way to their uncle’s home in Pasir Mas.
“The incident happened when the Proton Wira which was heading from Pasir Mas to Tanah Merah tried to overtake the vehicle in front but failed to do so and entered the opposite lane, colliding with the Perodua Myvi,“ he said when contacted here. — Bernama
