MALACCA: Any water rationing in Malacca following the unsatisfactory levels of several dams will be implemented systematically to minimise the impact of water supply disruption to consumers, according to Chief Minister Adly Zahari.

He said the matter would be finalised tomorrow after a meeting of the state executive council, and it was just an early preparation for Malacca to face the hot and dry weather which is expected to continue until April.

“Right now the water level of the state dam is about 46% and at this rate we should save water as supply will be disrupted if the hot and dry weather continues.

“We will come up with some suggestions including better scheduling to ensure that the water supply is not disrupted as a whole,“ he told reporters after the opening of the Kolej Al-Quran Sayyidina Ali of the Malacca Islamic Religious Department, here today.

The Kolej Al-Quran was opened by Malacca Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Dr Mohd Khalil Yaakob. - Bernama
