WKB2030 to unleash new injections towards high-income economy: Azmin

KUALA LUMPUR: The Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (WKB2030) will unleash new injections to steer the country into a high-income economy, strengthen the people’s purchasing power, and bridge the income and development gap between classes, races and regions, Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali (pix) said.

He said the vision, mooted by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, which will be launched tomorrow, is also a paradigm that will guide the country’s socio-economic development until 2030.

“It will drive the country’s development in a sustainable manner along with fair, equitable and inclusive economic distribution for all Malaysians in the country in the face of world economic uncertainty as a result of the trade war.

“This vision will make the Malaysian economy more resilient and foster unity among the people and strengthen the country’s stability as a democratic country,“ he said in a statement today.

Azmin said the beauty of the Shared Prosperity Vision will be illuminated when the economic gap between income groups, ethnic communities, regions and supply chain is bridged in an ever-expanding economic context.

“The Shared Prosperity Vision will result in a new dawn in the New Malaysia era in the quest to defend and uphold the dignity of the people,“ he said. — Bernama
