OVER 2,000 participants took part in the Selangor Corporate Colour Run 2019 at Stadium Shah Alam on Aug 17.
Organised by Invest Selangor Bhd with the cooperation of Kelab Rekreasi Invest Selangor (KRIS) and supported by Mentri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI), the 5km flag-off was officiated by Selangor Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari.
The programme’s primary objective is to promote a healthy lifestyle in the state, and to strengthen the relationship between the Selangor government, the community and corporate companies.
Additionally, the run functioned as a corporate social responsibility initiative, where a portion of the collected funds will be distributed to the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation (KDSF) through the Corporate Charity Run category.
The latter is a form of sponsorship open to all interested companies and a portion of the contribution will be allocated for a chosen charitable organisation. The sponsorship categories were split into four parts; Platinum (RM30,000), Gold (RM20,000), Silver (RM10,000) and Bronze (RM5,000).
The Selangor Corporate Colour Run 2019 was split into two parts:
> 3km (CEOs, the company’s upper management and sponsors)
> 5km (The general public - prizes for the 1st to 25th place ranged from RM350 to RM60)
Furthermore, winners of the lucky draw walked away with a Yamaha Y15zr (insurance and registration costs not included), six return flight tickets to Istanbul worth RM30,000, LED TVs, mountain bikes, tablets, ovens, Sunway Lagoon tickets, and Xiaomi watches among others.
