THE two hospitality properties under the Sunway conglomerate in Penang recently held a preview of its Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve buffet dinner promotion with a wide variety of festive gastronomic delights to sample.
Unlike many other hotels, the Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya and its sister property – Sunway George Town decided to offer a buffet spread so diners can eat to their hearts’ content during the festive period.
Usually, hotels tend to offer a set menu for the occasion. In a statement, the hotel pointed out that the traditional favourites such as turkey and roasted whole lamb would be on the menu, together with wide samplings of salad, pasta, puddings, fruit cakes and cookies.
Not forgetting the recent Deepavali celebration, the hotel also decided to be the “light over darkness” champion by feting 143 low income families to a scrumptious spread of cuisine associated with the occasion.
Penang’s Deputy Chief Minister II Dr. P. Ramasamy graced the event and saluted the hotel for coming out with a corporate society responsibility exercise.
Besides a sumptuous lunch, the hotel group provided financial aid, school bags and groceries to the families here.
