AVENUE K recently collaborated with Charwiki, a non-profit organisation for children, to spread Christmas cheer to 18 children from the House of Joy.
At the event held on Dec 6, the children were treated to a sumptuous dinner at Nene Chicken and taken on a shopping spree to buy clothes and shoes.
The children also sang Christmas carols and were entertained by singer Joy Victor who sang Christmas songs.
During the event, Avenue K also donated RM5,000 to House of Joy’s administrator Lesley Mah, for the upkeep of the home. While Village Grocer donated a shopping cart full of groceries to House of Joy.
Avenue K’s deputy general manager Phang Sze Sze said Christmas is a time of giving and invited shoppers to fulfill an underprivileged child’s wish by sponsoring a Christmas present through www.Charwiki.com.
Charwiki will publish a list of Christmas wishes from the children on its website and shoppers can make the kids “dreams come true” by donating a gift to them.
At the same event, Avenue K also launched its “Merry Gifting Christmas” campaign.
The shopping centre has an impressive line-up of events for the month of December, which includes musical performances and Christmas themed workshops.
Shoppers also stand a chance to win cool gadgets and Avenue K vouchers worth over RM10,000. Spend RM500 (RM450 for AK neighbours card members) in two receipts on the same day and guess the number of Christmas gift boxes on display, to win a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and a 7-day Mercedes-Benz-A-Class test drive experience.
