Historic victory at Melbourne Park

UNIQLO recently congratulated Global Brand Ambassador Shingo Kunieda, the world’s top-ranked wheelchair tennis player, on winning the Men’s Singles division at the 2020 Australian Open Wheelchair Tennis Tournament. The event was held at Melbourne Park this year from Jan 29 to Feb2.

Kunieda’s 27th Singles Grand Slam title overall, the win marks a historic 10th Australian Open title for him.

Speaking after his Australian Open win, Kunieda commented, “I am thrilled that I could pull off a win at the first of the four major tournaments of 2020, which is shaping up to be a big year, and I would like to thank everyone for their continued support.”

“Uniqlo is aiming to be No. 1 with a new category of apparel called LifeWear, and as a Global Brand Ambassador, I am delighted to be taking on that challenge alongside them. They provide me with high-functionality apparel that supports my performance day in, day out.
