KK Super Mart lights up the lives of others this Deepavali

KK SUPER MART’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes are actively organised in a way to help out communities in need, as the initiatives are not only limited to the terms of activities organised by the company, but also the government and non-governmental organisation (NGO) programmes that engage with the communities.

In conjunction with the Deepavali celebration, KK SUPER MART is entrusted to assist the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and the Ministry of Federal Territories (KWP) in providing essential items for the Food Basket Giving Programme and Donation to 500 recipients who have been affected by Covid-19.

The ceremony in Menara DBKL Tower 1 was attended by Deputy Minister of Federal Territories Datuk Seri Dr Santhara J.P., Federal Territories Deputy Secretary Datuk Hajah Rosida Jaafar, Community Development and Urban Wellbeing Department Director Tuan Hj Anwar Mohd Zain and Socio-Economic Development Executive Director Datuk Ibrahim Yusoff, along with KK Group of Companies Founder and Group Executive Chairman Datuk Dr KK Chai.

Every recipient will receive essential supplies such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, flour, rice vermicelli, instant noodles, soy sauce, and other supplies costing RM100.

Each of them will receive an amount of the fund from DBKL and KWP, as well as facial masks from KK SUPER MART.

As a leading corporate company in the retail industry, KK SUPER MART’s 490 outlets throughout the country were not spared from the effects brought upon by Covid-19, but the company’s social responsibility activities will continue to be carried out, such as the upcoming programme organised by KK SUPER MART; the GEROBOK MUHIBBAH in Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad, Kuala Lumpur.
