IN welcoming the dawn of a new year and the next decade, Heineken Malaysia celebrated the New Year’s Eve with a high energy countdown party at TREC that closed with a three-minute long stunning display of fireworks as the clock struck midnight.

Joining Heineken in the heart of KL were partygoers who ushered in the new year with a myriad of activities that were specially curated to make the occasion a night to remember.

Furthermore, Heineken unveiled its newest celebration piece; the Heineken Star Tower, that carried wishes and festive greetings of fans from across the nation. DJs JHin and BATE entertained the crowd with highly energetic performances as a tribute to the last night of 2019.

Setting the momentum for the night was DJ JHin’s signature mix of trap, future bass and hip hop tunes, while popular DJ duo, BATE took over the Star Tower as the countdown approached to provide partygoers with a high energy, pulsating performance.

Throughout the celebration, guests were interacting with the virtual “Count Your Lucky Stars” game that was projected on the Heineken Star Tower, where fans virtually swiped Heineken bottle caps from their mobile screens to fill a giant Heineken bottle on the Star Tower. Complimentary Heineken were given to surprised guests when the virtual bottle eventually filled to the brim.

As the night drew closer to midnight, the energy from the crowd showed no signs of slowing down and just as the clock struck midnight, a dazzling display of fireworks were set off to officially welcome the start of a new decade.

Hyping the crowd up was host of the night, Ron Liew, as he dropped hints on upcoming surprises and what to expect throughout the celebration.

Another hit attraction among guests was the “Infinity Booth”, as they gave it their all in getting the perfect shot to commemorate the end of the decade.

The Heineken roving camera team were also moving about, as they captured celebratory moments with the Heineken “Cheers Cam” and shared them for all to see via the screens of the Star Tower.

Heineken further fueled the mood with complimentary bottles of Heineken that were given away at participating outlets in TREC every hour between 8pm and 11pm.

As a perfect memento for the night, Heineken fans walked away with personalised Heineken bottles with their names printed onto them.
