With the announcement of the movement control order (MCO) by the government of Malaysia to curb the spreading of COVID-19 outbreak, Watsons Malaysia has temporarily closed its headquarters for two weeks where its employees will continue to work from home. This is in accordance to the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 and the Police Act 1967 order.

During this period, most of the Watsons stores will still remain open for customers to purchase any required essential items. And ensuring customers’ hygiene and safety concern as a top priority, Watsons Malaysia will perform cleaning and cleansing by disinfecting the equipment, cashier area, baskets and door handles.

In addition, all Watsons store employees are required to wear protective mask and to sanitise their hands regularly while attending to customers including practising social distancing while customers are shopping.

Watsons Malaysia managing director Caryn Loh said: “We are monitoring the situation closely and taking the utmost precaution for our employees and the public to ensure that their safety is our main priority. At the same time, we would like to ensure our customers that we can provide sufficient daily supplies for everyone.”

“Our employees and suppliers are working around the clock to replenish stocks and to make sure we have enough supplies to fulfil our customers’ needs. We encourage everyone to practise good personal hygiene and stay healthy. Let’s all remain vigilant and do our part to prevent the spread of the virus,” she added.

In addition, customers can shop online at watsons.com.my or the Watsons Mobile App where they can either enjoy Free Delivery with a minimum purchase of RM120 or collect their orders in four hours via the Click and Collect Express with no minimum spend.
