WATSONS Personal Care Stores Malaysia raised a total of RM60,128.00 in donations during the Watsons Pink Ribbon campaign.

Watsons Finance Director Low Siew Hui who is also a member of the Global Group CSR Committee, presented a mock cheque to Ranjit Kaur, President of the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA).

The awareness campaign was launched in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

“Partners from participating brands and customers nationwide have supported this meaningful campaign. With this contribution, BCWA can step up breast cancer support, education and advocacy. We hope BCWA can continue to enable women to take charge of their health and wellbeing,” said Low.

For every Watsons bill exceeding RM50 through the sale of products from participating brands, RM1 was chanelled to BCWA.

Customers also contributed by purchasing pink ribbon magnetic pins during the Campaign. Additionally, RM10 vouchers were given to Watsons members, while customers who purchased the pink ribbon magnet pins were given free health checks and a makeover by Watsons’ experts.

Participating brands for Watsons Pink Ribbon Campaign 2019 included Biore, Bio-essence, Blackmores, Cetaphil, Gatsby, GVC, Hada Labo, Kate, Lifebuoy, Maybelline, Nano White, NH Detox, Nivea, Oral-B, Pure Beauty, Pantene and Safi.

“Early detection and timely medical treatment of breast cancer can save lives and are crucial for good recovery. One of the key steps to combat breast cancer is to take action through regular screening and being breast aware,” said Ranjit.
