SHAH ALAM: Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim (pix) sacked five DAP and PKR executive councillors (excos) from the state executive council, marking another turning point in the state leadership crisis.
The termination letter for the exco for welfare Rodziah Ismail had yet to be sent as she is out of state currently.
Khalid said this is due to an earlier statement made by the excos concerned that they will not be meeting Khalid except during their weekly executive council meetings.
"The excos from DAP and PKR had made a signed statement that they will form a bloc and reduce their working capacity as excos.
"Because of that, I have written a letter to ask for permission from the Sultan to request for their resignation of all six DAP and PKR excos," he told reporters at the state secretariat today.
He said Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has no objections to the sacking and letters have been sent to inform the six excos of their termination.
They include exco for local government Datuk Teng Chang Khim (DAP), exco for investment Ean Yong Hian Wah (DAP), exco for tourism Elizabeth Wong (PKR), exco for health Dr. Daroyah Alwi (PKR), and exco for plantation workers V. Ganabatirau (DAP).
Meanwhile, Khalid said he is now discussing with PAS excos on how to conduct their future weekly executive council meetings.
He said it is important to show that the state administration has not stopped managing state matters and state development projects will continue to be carried out.
"The important thing is to show that the administration of the state is continued, and development projects continue to be executed," he said.
He also denied rumours that he had submitted a membership form to PAS in hopes of joining the party.
