Tan Huat Seang supposed to celebrate 59th birthday

    NILAI: The tragic death of Datuk Tan Huat Seang could not have come at a most unfortunate time as he was supposed to be celebrating his 59th birthday today and his demise was during the symbolic Qing Ming period (Tomb Sweeping Day).
    According to his friends, before Tan's death on April 4, his wife had advised him to cancel his plans as he was due to celebrate his birthday today (April 5).
    Tan had just finished attending the wedding reception of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's daughter in Pekan when the helicopter tragedy struck.
    When Tan's family members could not contact him on his handphone, they feared the worst and his family rushed to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for confirmation.
    Tan was cremated at Xiao En Memorial Park today.
    His ashes will then be taken back to Alor Star, Kedah, his hometown, where his final resting place will be.
    It is learnt that Tan was the vice-president of the Tan Clan Association of Surnames and was the managing director at Lam Ho Enterprise Sdn. Bhd. prior to his tragic death.
    He was also a charitable man who contributed generously to charity and also took part in community activities.
