PETALING JAYA: The World Wide Fund for Nature Malaysia (WWF-Malaysia) has unveiled its distinctive anniversary logo to commemorate its 45th year of establishment in Malaysia.
The special logo was also revealed in conjunction with Earth Day, which will be celebrated globally on April 22.
WWF-Malaysia in a statement said the special logo was created mainly to reconnect with its audience and shed light on its conservation efforts and successes throughout the decades.
"WWF-Malaysia has come a long way since its inception and we have many green wins to celebrate. Creating a memorable logo is a powerful way to reach out to the public and reconcile those achievements.
"We are proud to have dedicated ourselves to 45 years of conservation action, and the logo shall be a vibrant reminder to that," said its chief executive officer Datuk Dr Dionysius Sharma.
WWF-Malaysia said the anniversary logo would be constantly featured until the end of 2017, with the milestone achievement to be celebrated with several activities that would be announced soon.
Established as a national conservation trust on Jan 13, 1972, WWF-Malaysia began as a humble two person-organisation.
Today, this non-profit organisation has close to 200 dedicated talents and runs more than 90 projects covering a diverse range of environmental conservation and protection work, from saving endangered species such as tigers and turtles, to protecting highland forests, rivers and seas.
