ONE Esports, a subsidiary of ONE Championship, announced they would join forces with Toyota Motor Asia Pacific to present the Regional Round of GR Supra GT Cup Asia 2020 - exclusively on PlayStation 4.
The two global companies will bring together Asia’s top drivers in ‘Gran Turismo Sport’ for the PlayStation 4. The top three national qualifying players from each participating country will advance to compete in the Regional Final.
CEO of ONE Esports Carlos Alimurung said, “I’m excited to announce that we have joined forces with Toyota Motor Asia Pacific to deliver a unique esports experience to motorsports enthusiasts and racing fans around the world.”
The tournament will receive support from Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR), the company’s motorsports arm for product research and development.
Last year, TGR launched the GR Supra GT Cup with more than 800,000 players purchasing the GR Supra to compete. The aim of TGR was to compile data and feedback from elite players to improve the performance of the real-life GR Supra.
ONE Esports, part of Asia’s largest global sports media property, will give drivers a platform to showcase their driving skills.

The upcoming GR Supra GT Cup Asia 2020 will highlight the skill and abilities of the top drivers in five different markets from July to September. The winner of the three-month-long tournament will be able to claim the status as one of the world’s top esports racecar drivers.
The National Rounds of the tournament will be hosted in India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, with Toyota distributors hosting the races in each participating nation.
The exhilarating action of Gran Turismo Sport will be on full display from Asia’s top esports athletes throughout the exciting GR Supra GT Cup Asia 2020 - Regional Round.
To be eligible to compete, players must be at least 18 years old and purchase the GR Supra in Gran Turismo Sport. Registration and additional details will be made available at a later date.
