TOURISM Malaysia has invited a total of 30 international media from 11 countries to participate in its Mega Familiarisation programme - “Its Summertime in Malaysia – Let’s go on a Beach Visit Malaysia 2020 Edition”.

During their stay here, the group of foreign journalists will get to experience the beauty of Malaysia’s beaches and go on an ecoadventure, besides enjoying our unique culture and heritage.

The objective of the programme is to boost promotional efforts for the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign, which aims to achieve 30 million international tourist arrivals and RM100 billion tourist receipts.

During their stay here, the participants will be divided into three groups with four different destinations - Perak, Penang, Terengganu and Sabah. The main focus of the programme is to create awareness about preservation and conservation of nature through activities at the islands, i.e. visiting the SEATRU Turtle Lab at Redang Island to learn about sea turtle conservation.

The participants will also have the opportunity to visit several iconic places around Kuala Lumpur such as Kuala Lumpur City Centre, KL Tower, Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Dataran Merdeka. They will also travel to other parts of Malaysia such as Putrajaya and Malacca, Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Terengganu.

To ensure the campaign’s success, Tourism Malaysia has partnered with several private sectors such as Golden Sands Resort Penang by Shangri-La, KL Hop-On Hop-Off, Penang Global Tourism, Terengganu Tourism Department, as well as Malaysia Airlines who has hosted 30 tickets.
