WHILE many across the globe would have the words ‘Covid’ ringing in their head non-stop, couples in the Philippines are naming their kids ‘Covid’.
One Filipino netizen even posted on Twitter that she received information that a domestic worker’s grandchild was named ‘Covid Bryant’ after the late Kobe Bryant.
Although some of these reports of Covid babies are unverified, GMA News, one baby girl was named Covid Lorraine, and another baby emulating a tongue twister was named Coviduvidapdap.
“Whether they’re real names or just part of an elaborate meme, the social media trend is a much-needed comic relief for many Filipinos,” Vice reported.
