M’sian celebrity Baby Shima receives lewd messages on Instagram

IT’S not uncommon for women to receive vulgar or lewd on social media, and that’s what local singer Baby Shima tried to highlight.

Shima, who received such messages on her Instagram page, brought the matter to light with the hopes of teaching a lesson. She said, “ I am sharing this message so that it becomes a lesson to others and that there are laws to punish such wrongdoers.”

On her Instagram posts she also pointed out the punishments laid out in the Multimedia and Communications Act 1988, which prevents people from uploading or creating content that can be considered lewd, false or vulgar, and those who do so could face a punishment of RM50,000 or/and at least 1 year imprisonment.
