RENOWNED Indonesian singer Judika will be performing with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP) on Oct 19 and 20 at 8.30pm.

His concerts at DFP are held in collaboration with Kelab Sukan Dan Rekreasi Petronas.

The 41-year-old singer, who last held a concert here in 2017, will be the second Indonesian artiste to hold a solo concert at DFP. The first was Ruth Sahanaya in 2018.

Born in Sidikalang in Indonesia’s northern Sumatra, Judika began making a name for himself as a singer in singing competitions such as Asia Bagus (1998) and Indonesian Idol (2005).

Together with a capella group Antero Boys, he won Romania’s Cerbul de Aur song festival in 2000.

He went on to release his debut album, One, in 2007, and to date, has six solo albums and two compilation albums to his name.

Along the way, he put out a string of chart-topping hits such as Bukan Dia Tapi Aku, Cinta Satukan Kita, Aku Yang Tersakiti, Sampai Kau Jadi Milikku and Jikalau Kau Cinta.

All of these hits had won awards at prestigious events such as Anugerah Muzik Indonesia and Anugerah Planet Muzik.

From 2011 to 2014, he was also the vocalist for Mahadewa, a band fronted by Ahmad Dhani. Apart from singing, Judika has also acted with five feature films to his credit.

Judika’s concerts with the MPO will be under the baton of Ahmad Muriz Che Rose and will also feature powerhouse vocalist Jaclyn Victor as a guest artiste.
