A PROFESSOR by day and an adventurer whenever fate calls, Indiana Jones has captured the heart and imagination of many since he appeared in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Experience the daring deeds of this Nazi-punching, fedora-wearing swashbuckling archaeologist with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP) this Saturday at 8.30pm and Sunday at 3pm.

The Raiders of the Lost Ark in Concert programme, led by MPO resident conductor Gerard Salonga, will feature music composed by John Williams for this film directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Harrison Ford.

Raiders of the Lost Ark was the highest-grossing film of 1981. It was nominated for eight Academy Awards the following year and won four – for best film editing, sound mixing, visual effects and production design as well as a fifth Oscar for special achievement.

This is not MPO’s first ‘live’ soundtrack for the screening of a movie. Previously, DPF has played host to the screenings of Psycho, Home Alone, Casablanca, Ola Bola, Ratatouille, and Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times and The Gold Rush.
