RENOWNED Malaysian fashion designer, or fashion maestro as one might more appropriately deem him, Datuk Rizalman Ibrahim kicks off the new decade with a brand new collection with his long-time collaborator, Sometime by Asian Designers.

The collection aptly titled Rizalman 2020 marks his fourth collaboration with the Malaysian bag and accessories specialist, and is expected to receive an overwhelming response, as have previous collections.

Sometime designed by Rizalman has always been one of the most sought-after collections in the country, joining a slew of other collaborators such as Jason Wu, Alia Bastamam, Neelofa and Vivy Yusof. Just last year, Rizalman’s collection was sold out online on the launch day itself.

Nonetheless, this year’s collection is more diverse, featuring brand new items which include a pair of heels (Riheels), an apron (Riapron) along with three different bags (Rinew, Rimoon and Rifanny.)

The designer shares: “Luxury to me is an idea of being exquisite and extraordinary without compromising on exceptional quality; it’s not just about the hefty price tag. Together with Sometime by Asian Designers, I am glad that we are able to create products without the conventional markup.

“Sometime by Asian Designers also takes luxury up a notch with its personalisation service and that, I believe, is the epitome of luxury as the value behind each name is priceless.

“Except for the Riheels, each item from the Rizalman 2020 collection can be personalised through different techniques such as hot stamping or engraving, to place names on the items using the finest grade of foils and instruments for added exclusivity.”

Rizalman also debuted his first fanny pack known as Rifanny, which is completely versatile with two detachable straps that can be worn as a belt bag or a crossbody bag.

In addition, his Riheels footwear is crafted using velvet in brown, maroon and navy, for a touch of timeless glamour.

He adds: “We want women who wear these heels to feel in charge while preserving their feminine grace. Sometime by Asian Designers head of product Nicole Wong and I spent sleepless nights to get the right materials for this design, and together with her experienced artisan team, we’ve developed a velvet material that provides a refined finish for an exquisite look.”

The Rizalman 2020 collection is available at the Sometime by Asian Designers boutique showroom in The Gardens Mall, and online at www.sometime.asia. Take note that Riheels is available in limited colours.
