Model and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen and her husband, musician John Legend, had lost their baby due to a miscarriage late on Wednesday (Sept 30).
The model has been experiencing complications with pregnancy days before and shared her journey on her social media. She was put on bedrest the whole time.
Many fans were hopeful that it would be a smooth pregnancy for the model who often shares videos of her cooking with the family.
Unfortunately, Teigen shared to her fans that despite many blood transfusions, her baby had not been able to get the fluids he needed.
"We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we've never felt before," she wrote.
Legend posted on Twitter “We love you, Jack,” followed by five black hearts.
Teigen said they never decide children’s names until just before they left the hospital.
"But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack," she wrote. "So he will always be Jack to us."
