Ever since the news about Mads Mikkelsen replacing Johnny Depp in the latest Fantastic Beasts broke, there’s an online petition urging executives at both DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. to drop Amber Heard from the upcoming Aquaman sequel.
The petition created by Jeanne Larson has garnered more than 1,593,860 signatures and counting.
Larson passionately supports Depp and claimed that Heard is a “known and proven domestic abuser.” She also claimed that the actress has lied.
“Men are victims of domestic abuse, just like women. This must be recognized, and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated within the entertainment industry,” Larson wrote in the online petition.
“Do the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2.”
Aquaman 2 is set for release in 2022, with James Wan directing and Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson reprising their roles from the first film.
