ACTOR Dev Patel successfully “broke up a knife fight” in Adelaide on Aug 1, the Oscar-nominee’s representative confirmed in a statement recently. The British star currently resides in Australia.
According to the country’s 7news network, a man and a woman were fighting in the street and in a convenience store when the man was stabbed in the chest. The news station reported that the man is expected to survive.
The statement from Patel’s team sought to deflect attention from his bravery, and stressed that “there are no heroes in this situation and sadly this specific incident highlights a larger systemic issue of marginalised members of society not being treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.”
