Riverdale (SEASON 4)

Premiere: Oct 9

Riverdale returned for a fourth season this week, with more grim twists befalling Archie and those around him. The episode titled Chapter Fifty-Eight: In Memoriam will honour actor Luke Perry, who played Archie’s dad, Fred Andrews. Perry’s untimely death in March at the age of 52 changed the storyline of the show, and makes season 4 an emotional one as the characters deal with Fred’s passing.

Nancy Drew (NEW)

Premiere: Oct 9

Another adaptation getting the noir treatment is CW’s Nancy Drew, which is based on the beloved books revolving around the adventures of a brilliant teen detective. Kennedy McMann plays the titular character who lives in a small town nestled in the green forests of the Pacific Northwest. Producers of the show confirmed that the adaptation will not feature storylines from the books. In other words, be prepared for a new and modern mystery adventure!

Supernatural (SEASON 15)

Premiere: Oct 10

Season 15 marks the end of Supernatural, the dark fantasy series created by Eric Kripke back in 2005. The Winchester brothers, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have battled an eclectic host of supernatural creatures over the years, ranging from vengeful spirits, shapeshifters, werewolves, vampires and demons, to really bad angels. The final season will see them once again race against time to prevent the end of the world. Whatever the outcome, the end will be bittersweet for fans of the series.

Watchmen (NEW)

Premiere: Oct 20

Watchmen is an adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name, about a dystopian world filled with masked vigilantes who are treated as outlaws for their violent methods. Fans are already commenting on the grittiness of the show based on the trailers released so far, which sees the 7th Cavalry, white supremacist vigilantes wearing Rorschach masks, begin attacking the homes of policemen from the Tulsa Police Force. Chaos ensues when the cops also don masks of their own to combat the 7th Cavalry using any means necessary.
