AeU’s global online MBA programme

As more organisations extend their reach and diversify into rapidly growing market segments, understanding local and global ways of conducting business is paramount to organisational success. Hence, working professionals and entrepreneurs are turning to Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees to enhance their business and industry knowledge and improve their skills.

Asia e University is driving the digital revolution by offering an online MBA programme for the masses so they can thrive and meet local and global demands of a technology-intensive global marketplace. The programme was developed with unsurpassed flexibility in mind, to help young professionals achieve a study-work life balance. Many are said to have taken this higher education path to enhance their careers as well as explore new business opportunities.

AeU 2016 international MBA graduate, Thant Thant Sin Aung (pix), aged 57, who hails from Myanmar, is an entrepreneur and holds a managing director’s position at a survey and inspection firm. She enrolled with AeU in January 2015 and graduated with an MBA degree in 2016.

She says, “AeU was the university of my choice because it was not only affordable, but the programme is internationally benchmarked, approved by the Malaysia Ministry of Education and accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency”.

Thant also commented that the AeU MBA curriculum combines eastern and western perspectives, with a special focus on Asian business, which is highly relevant to her. “It fitted my ambition to be a competent Asian business leader and there was also a healthy mix of academic and experiential learning. I found the core modules very comprehensive, industry-focused and enlightening, such as ‘Strategic management - Asian Business’. The focus on emerging markets in Asia was also valuable in the current economic scenario,” she added.

But ultimately, Thant was happy that she could connect via online and Whatsapp with AeU’s academic facilitators, experts and administrators, all who were very helpful.

“AeU’s personalised learning system, myPLS, provided easily accessible learning resources such as web-based modules and multimedia courseware, available for students to view or download. I was given access to a wealth of online library resources of e-books, e-journals, e-theseis and past exam papers,” Thant shared.

Thant found huge relief in the flexibility of the programme where she could study with minimal disruption to her family’s needs, work commitments and challenges faced in adjusting her time and roles as a professional, wife and mother.

AeU’s cumulative student population exceeds 30,000, spread over 100 countries. The university has a global community of over 17,000 alumni. Nearly 1,000 students worldwide, have graduated from its MBA degree programmes.
