MAGGI has been providing young home chefs with a platform to showcase their culinary skills by bringing them together in culinary challenges aimed at inspiring teenagers to cook homemade meals.

This year’s MAGGI Secondary Schools Cooking Competition didn’t just mark another anniversary. It is also a celebration of the collaborative effort by MAGGI and the Ministry of Education over 20 years which has allowed teenagers to gain knowledge and skills on food, nutrition and healthy eating.

The Grand Final held recently saw a showdown between 48 aspiring chefs – the regional winners from 16 states – vying for the national title. Each team was given 90 minutes to first prepare healthy dishes based on the theme, “Mum’s Favourite Dish”.

A MAGGI Mystery Box Challenge in the next stage proved to be the final test. Teams had to complete the challenge using fresh ingredients provided by MAGGI at the event. Points were awarded for taste, culinary skills, creativity, food selection and nutritional value, among others.

The winners were announced at the awards ceremony officiated by the Director-General of Education, Tan Sri Dr Khair bin Mohamad Yusof and Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad, Foods Division, Business Executive Manager, Rosalyn Simba.
