Chiefs WR Watkins questionable to face Ravens

27 Sep 2020 / 05:32 H.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins was a full participant in practice on Saturday and is listed as questionable to play in the team's showdown against the Baltimore Ravens.

Watkins is dealing with both a concussion and a neck injury after absorbing a hit to the head from Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman during Kansas City's 23-20 overtime victory on Sunday. Perryman was not penalized for the hit.

Watkins, 27, has eight receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown in two games this season for the Chiefs (2-0), who rely on speedy wideout Tyreek Hill, tight end Travis Kelce and others in their potent passing game.

Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman would see additional snaps should Watkins be unable to face the host Ravens (2-0) on Monday.

Watkins has 292 catches for 4,337 yards and 32 touchdowns in 78 career games with the Buffalo Bills (2014-16), Los Angeles Rams (2017) and Chiefs (2018-present). He was selected by the Bills with the fourth overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.

The Chiefs also listed cornerback Charvarius Ward (hand) and fullback Dorian O'Daniel (knee, ankle) as questionable after both were limited in practice on Saturday.

Defensive end Alex Okafor (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday night's contest.

All other players have received no injury designation, including running back Darrel Williams (ankle), defensive end Frank Clark (illness) and safety Juan Thornhill (knee).
