Sept 27 (Reuters) - A look at the key facts and records of Spain's Rafa Nadal and Egor Gerasimov, of Belarus, before their French Open first round match on Monday (prefix number denotes seeding):

    2-RAFA NADAL

ATP ranking: 2 (Highest ranking: 1)

    Grand Slam titles: 19 (Australian Open 2009; French Open 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019; Wimbledon 2008, 2010; U.S. Open 2010, 2013, 2017, 2019)

    Career ATP titles: 85

    2019 French Open performance: Winner

    Best French Open performance: 12-times winner (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019)

Nadal returns to his favourite hunting ground to begin his quest for a record-extending 13th title at Roland Garros as well as a 20th Grand Slam to equal Roger Federer but he will be greeted by unfamiliar conditions.

Dropping temperatures, artificial lights and a new roof have made things tricky for players at the postponed major this year. However, Nadal has never lost in the first round at Roland Garros where he holds an astonishing 93-2 record.

    EGOR GERASIMOV

ATP ranking: 83 (Highest ranking: 65)

    Grand Slam titles: 0

    Career ATP titles: 0

2019 French Open performance: Did not qualify

Best French Open performance: Main draw debut

Having failed three times in the past, Gerasimov finally qualified for the main draw at Roland Garros only to be handed just about the most thankless task in tennis in the first round.

The towering Belarusian relies on his serve and groundstrokes but clay is not his favourite surface while the only top 10 win of his career came against David Goffin earlier this year on a hardcourt.
