FC Dallas signed winger Kalil ElMedkhar after acquiring his homegrown rights from the Philadelphia Union.
The two-year contract announced Thursday also includes club options for the 2023, 2024 and 2025 seasons.
Philadelphia received $50,000 in general allocation money in exchange, with the potential for more if ElMedkhar meets certain performance metrics.
ElMedkhar, 21, joined Philadelphia's youth academy in 2013 and graduated in 2017. He played two seasons with the USL League Two side Reading United AC, tallying five goals and three assists in 22 games.
A Delaware native, ElMedkhar played four seasons at the University of Kentucky and registered 20 goals and 21 assists in 66 appearances.
