'Mistake' for California schools to remain shuttered -Trump

15 Jul 2020 / 06:55 H.

WASHINGTON, July 14 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview on Tuesday that it was a "mistake" for the two largest California school districts, Los Angeles and San Diego, to keep schools closed in the fall.

Trump has pushed for schools to open up for the school year even as states across the country see a surge in cases of the coronavirus and amid questions about whether schools can hold in-person classes safely. (Reporting by Makini Brice Editing by Chris Reese)
