Panthers place K Slye, OL Scott on reserve/COVID-19 list
The Carolina Panthers placed kicker Joey Slye and offensive lineman Trent Scott on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday.
Slye and Scott join backup offensive linemen Michael Schofield and Tyler Larsen on the list. The addition of Slye means the Panthers will have to add a kicker to the roster.
The Panthers reopened their practice facility on Wednesday. The team was told to work from home the previous two days following a presumptive positive test on Monday.
Being placed on the list means a player tested positive for COVID-19 or was identified as exposed to the virus through contact tracing.
Last week, the team practiced with heightened safety protocols after a member of the Atlanta Falcons -- their opponent on Oct. 11 -- tested positive for the virus. Carolina lost 23-16 to the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
The Panthers (3-3) remain on schedule to meet the Saints (3-2) in New Orleans this Sunday.
