MOSCOW, Jan 26 (Reuters) - A Russian court will hear Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny's appeal against his jailing on Thursday ahead of a new opposition protest planned this weekend, Leonid Volkov, a close Navalny ally, said on Tuesday.

Navalny was remanded in custody for 30 days last week for alleged parole violations. Tens of thousands of protesters took part in protests on Saturday to call for his release. (Reporting by Maria Tsvetkova, Anton Zverev; Writing by Tom Balmforth; Editing by Alison Williams)
