KUALA LUMPUR: The 14-year-old daughter of Lahad Datu police chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail was found dead in a pool of blood in a room at her home in Taman Tabanak, Lahad Datu yesterday.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, when contacted by Bernama, confirmed the incident and said that further investigations are being carried out.

“The police are still investigating how the incident could have occurred. The victim’s 16-year-old sister found her lying in the room after returning from school.

“The victim’s father was in Kinabatangan during the incident to handle relocation matters as he was recently promoted (to Lahad Datu),“ he said.

Dzulbaharin Ismail was appointed Lahad Datu police chief on April 1.

Razarudin said a post-mortem will be carried out at 9 am today, adding that police are currently gathering witnesses to record statements.

“The public is advised not to make any speculation until the investigation is completed,” he said.
