Get in on LINE with Watsons

WATSONS Malaysia is the first retailer in Asia to co-brand a card with a lifestyle mobile messaging application company. In its effort to enhance its customer loyalty programme, Watsons partnered with LINE. The undertaking followed with the launch of the "Watsons LINE Limited Edition VIP Card" with Touch 'n Go feature.
"Our goal has always been to design a unique loyalty card programme for our customers, not only to enjoy benefits at Watsons' stores, but beyond Watsons as well. Last year we worked with Malaysia's number one micro-payment provider. This year we launched our Watsons Dining Privileges, whereby our members get to enjoy discounts of up to 20% across 90 over F&B brands at over 600 outlets nationwide. On top of that, our aim is to bring more fun and excitement to our customers and there is no better way to achieve this than to partner with LINE," said Watsons Malaysia senior business relations manager Benjamin Wong.
The partnership was announced at Coffee Club in Subang Parade recently. Among those present from Watsons Malaysia were its managing director Kulvinder Birring, marketing and development director Jessica Ng, marketing controller Danny Hoh, along with Watsons' celebrity friends Mark O'Dea and Reem Shahwa.
In line with the launch, Watsons Malaysia also created a special set of LINE stickers for customers to download when they follow the official account. The stickers allow users to express their emotions.
"LINE allows users to communicate in a creative and fun way. We are consistently being innovative to create more exciting and engaging activities for our users, such as Lucky Chance giveaway and LINE fun activities through the LINE Fun Official Account. We are glad that Watsons has approached LINE as their innovative communication partner. With Watsons on board as a LINE partner, we are working very closely to come up with more interactive activities to reward our users," said LINE Malaysia team leader Wind Koh.

It is the new platform through which Watsons will connect with its customers and members on benefits, offers and rewards, in a fun way. Within a month of its launch, the account has already reached more than 201,000 followers. The Watsons LINE Limited Edition Card with the Touch 'n Go feature is now available in two collectible designs featuring LINE characters Brown and Cony. In addition to existing benefits, the limited edition cards are pre-loaded with RM5 worth of Watsons' points for new members, and US$1.99 worth of LINE stickers. Priced at RM20, these limited edition cards are available at selected Watsons outlets including Mid Valley Megamall, KLCC, Sunway Pyramid, 1 Utama, Alamanda, Pavilion, AEON Station 18, AEON Seremban 2, Queensbay Mall and JB City Square.
