Police catch 120 suspected GROs in Sunday raid

PETALING JAYA: Police nabbed 120 women, believed to be guest relations officers (GROs), in an overnight anti-vice operation in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday night.
Bukit Aman's Special Task Force for Anti-Vice, Gaming and Gangsterism (STAGG) principal assistant director SAC Khairi Ahrasa said the crackdown also saw 22 men and a woman, believed to be running the six premises detained in the raid.
"Those detained were aged between 24 and 51-years-old and the 120 foreign women detained includes Vietnamese, Chinese, Thais, Filipinas and Indonesians," he said in a statement today, adding that the women had also abused their social visit passes.
Khairi further added that the modus operadi was to offer the GROs to clients for sex at a rate of between RM130 and RM220.
It is learnt that police also seized cash totalling RM5,468 and various entertainment equipment from the premise.
The case is being investigated under Section 55B of the Immigration Act , Section 39B of the Immigration Regulations and Section 6 (1) of the Federal Territory Entertainment Enactment.
