Najib goes on walkabout at Terengganu Ramadan Bazaar

KUALA NERUS: Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak today went on a walkabout at the Batu Enam Ramadan Bazaar here and chatted with the traders and customers.
The Prime Minister, who was accompanied by Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman, bought several traditional delicacies including 'penganan', 'rojak kateh', 'bingka ubi', 'gulai kawah' and 'keropok lekor'.
Najib's presence was noticed by the people who exchanged greetings and posed for photographs with him.
Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh and several other leaders also joined the Prime Minister on the walkabout.
Najib told reporters he was impressed with the concept of the Ramadan Bazaar there which was lively and drew encouraging response from the people.
The Prime Minister advised people returning soon to their hometowns and villages for Aidilfitri to exercise care when driving.
"I well understand this culture (of returning home for the Aidilfitri) and hope the people of Terengganu coming back for the festive period will drive carefully so as to bring home the radiance of Syawal and instil joy in ourselves and our families," he said.
Trader Mek Senun Bari Yusof, 44, was overjoyed when Najib stopped by her stall and bought some 'kuih' (cakes).
The Ramadan Bazaar, popular among the people in Terengganu, has over 40 traders selling various kinds of food.
After the walkabout, Najib distributed goodies to orphans and broke the fast at Masjid As Salam in Batu Rakit. — Bernama
