PETALING JAYA: Two men who raped a woman at a video gaming arcade in Bandar Kinrara, Puchong during a robbery last week have been identified and are being tracked down by police.
Sources told theSun that police have the images of the two assailants who are believed to be in their 20's as they were hauled up for routine crime prevention checks during a roadblock at Jalan Genting Kelang by Kuala Lumpur police about three hours after they allegedly committed the crime on Thursday.
However, the men who were riding a motorcycle were freed after their particulars were recorded as police were unaware of the alleged robbery-cum-rape case until the arcade owner lodged a police report three days later.
The 40-year-old owner had only made the report on Saturday after a closed-circuit security camera (CCTV) video footage of the incident that was captured at the arcade went viral on social media.
The four-minute footage showed two men taking turns to rape the woman on the ground at a secluded corner of the arcade at about 11am on Thursday.
The men also forced her to perform oral sex on them.
Images of the two men, supposedly the suspects in the case, also went viral on social media.
The images are said to be screenshots taken from the footage and also from a car dashboard camera of a police vehicle when the suspects were being checked by KL police.
"We have identified the crime scene and the suspects. We have commenced our investigations and a task force to undertake the case has been formed. We urge those who have information on the suspects to come forward and assist us." said.
Serdang district police chief ACP Megat Mohd Aminuddin Megat Alias who also confirmed yesterday that a police report on the case was lodged by the owner of the premises at the Bandar Kinrara police station at 4.23pm on Saturday.
