Man scalded after being doused with hot water, assaulted by 15 people

KUALA LUMPUR: A man sustained second-degree burns after he was doused with hot water and assaulted by a group of about 15 men in Kampung Paya Jaras Hilir, Sungai Buloh near here yesterday.
The 25-year-old victim sustained injuries on the face and body, and was scalded on the back, left shoulder and neck in the 1am incident.
Sungai Buloh police chief Supt Somu Subramaniam said a police team detained seven suspects and was in the midst of closing in on the remaining accomplices.
"Our initial investigations revealed the victim had an affair with someone else's wife who was in the process of getting divorced. This could be the reason behind the attack," he said when contacted here today.
He said the victim was undergoing treatment at the Sungai Buloh Hospital and his condition was described as stable.
