SERDANG: Police have not located the pedestrian who was hit by a motorcycle in an accident that was captured in a video that went viral yesterday. She is believed to be an Indonesian.
Serdang district police chief ACP Mohd Megat Mohammad Aminudin Megat Alias said the incident took place at about 8.50am yesterday at Batu 12, Jalan Puchong near here.
"The motorcyclist, a clerk, could not control her bike and hit the pedestrian, who we believe is an Indonesian woman," he said in a statement yesterday.
"The motorcyclist suffered injuries on her mouth and gums and was brought by her husband to a nearby clinic for treatment. Meanwhile, the pedestrian who was hit by the motorcyclists cannot be located."
Mohd Megat said the case is being investigated under Section 43 (1) of the Road Transportation Act 1987, which carries a fine of between RM4,000 and RM10,000, and a jail term of up to 12 months.
In the one-minute video, a woman was seen crossing road while other vehicles were seen waiting at a traffic light.
She was then hit by a speeding motorcycle slamming right into her, causing both of them falling onto the road.
