Ringgit higher against US dollar in early session

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar today, lifted by continued buying support for the local unit, dealers said.
At 9.15am, the local unit stood at 4.2160/2190 against the greenback from Friday's close of 4.2200/2240.
The local note, however, was traded mixed against other major currencies.
It appreciated against the yen to 3.7629/7666 from Friday's 3.7638/7677 and rose against the euro to 4.9812/9852 from 4.9918/9970 last week.
The local unit declined against the Singapore dollar to 3.1213/1245 from 3.1146/1187 on Friday and depreciated against the British pound to 5.6014/6066 from 5.5995/5065 previously. — Bernama
