KUALA LUMPUR: The Tunku Kurshiah College (TKC) in Nilai, Negri Sembilan, located 46km from here, today received a 'coaster' bus donated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak and wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.
The replica of the key to the bus was handed over to TKC principal Anismah M Noh by TKC Old Girls Association president, Tan Sri Rafiah Salim, witnessed by Rosmah who is also an alumni of TKC.
Rafiah said this was the second bus donation to the school after the first in May last year.
"Last year, TKC received a bus which can accommodate 44 people. This year we receive this bus which can carry 25 people, and is suitable for use by students involved in sports such as hockey and netball," she told reporters after the TKC Walk-Run carnival at University Malaya today.
The organisation of the carnival, which entered its second edition, was aimed at collecting funds to repair sports facilities at the full boarding school.
More than 1,000 participants took part in the carnival which encompassed numerous sporting activities such as running or walking for five kilometres, poco-poco dance and zumba. — Bernama
