KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has warned that the Anti-Fake News Bill will bite Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak in the back should it be passed in Parliament and the opposition wins the forthcoming elections.
The Pakatan Harapan chairman said it would be used to investigate the Prime Minister on all his purported wrongdoings, and would act against him should he make up stories that were untrue.
“We will take him to court and ask him to explain how. We will ask for proof. If there is no evidence, then Najib will be charged under the Anti-Fake News Act,” the former prime minister said at a Bersih gathering, here, this morning.
“This is what awaits Najib for all he has done.”
