Fallen hero ASP Mohd Zabri, IGP head King's honours list

    PUTRAJAYA: The late ASP Mohd Zabri Abdul Hamid, a fallen hero in an operation to flush out communist insurgents in 1975, and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar headed the list of 1,622 recipients of federal awards and medals conferred by the di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah today.
    Mohd Zabri, VAT 69 Commando platoon commander, was killed when he stepped on a booby trap, received the Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa (S.P.) award while Khalid was bestowed with the Darjah Panglima Mangku Negara (PMN) which carries the title Tan Sri.
    The S.P. award is highest and most distinguished federal award.
    His Majesty also conferred 46 people with the Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM) award which carries the title Tan Sri. They were Federal Court judge Datuk Hasan Lah, Solicitor-General Datuk Seri Idris Harun, Education Ministry secretary-general Datuk Dr. Madinah Mohamad, Federal Court judge Datuk Seri Mohamed Apandi Ali, Federal Court judge Tan Kok Wha.
    Other recipients were Prof Emeritus Datuk Seri Dr Zakri Abdul Hamid, member of the Science Advisory Board to United Nations Secretary-General and chief executives, Federal Court judge Datuk Seri Zaleha Zahari, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) Board of Directors chairman Datuk Prof Ir Dr Ahmad Zaidee Laidin, Lembaga Tabung Haji group managing director/CEO Datuk Paduka Ismee Ismail.
    Regional Corridor Development Authority (Recoda) CEO Datuk Amar Wilson Baya anak Dandot, Akitek Jururancang (M) Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Seri Esa Mohamed, Brunfield International Group founder/managing director Datuk Ir Gan Thian Leong, Crime Prevention Foundation vice-chairman Datuk Henry Chin Poy Wu, former media advisor to prime minister Datuk Seri Jalaludin Bahaudin.
    Media Prima Berhad chairman Datuk Johan Jaaffar, Malton Berhad executive chairman Datuk Lim Siew Choon, Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) group managing director Datuk Mohamad Salim Fateh Din, Bloomberg TV Malaysia chairman Datu Seri Mohd Effendi Norwawi, Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd executive chairman Datuk Seri (Dr) Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh, and Persatuan Melayu Pulau Pinang (Pemenang president Datuk Seri Mohd Yussof Abdul Latiff.
    Other recipients were Dialog Group Berhad executive chairman Dr Ngau Boon Keat, Malaysian Federal Datuks Council president Datuk Ooi Han Eng, Mamee-Double Decker (M) Bhd CEO Datuk Wira Pang Tee Chew, Ahmad Zaki Resources Berhad chairman Datuk Seri Raja Aman Raja Ahmad, Sunway Group deputy chairman Datuk Seri Razman Md Hashim Che Din Md Hashim, Scouts Association of Malaysia chief scout Datuk Seri Paduka Shafie Mohd Salleh.

    Among 55 people honoured with the Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN) award which carries the title Datuk were Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) medical lecturer Prof Dr Ainoon Othman, Federal Court chief registrar Azimah Omar, Prime Minister's Department research director-general Hasanah Ab Hamid, and Kemaman Wanita Umno division chief Senator Rahmani @ Rohani Abdullah.
    Six people were awarded the Panglima Setia Diraja (PSD) award which carries the title Datuk, including Prime Minister's Department financial division secretary Zolkopli Dahalan, Istana Negara religious officer Datuk Abd Aziz Che Yacob, and Datuk Paduka Maharaja Lela Maj-Gen Datuk Wira Md Tajri Alwi.
    There were 34 recipients of the Johan Mangku Negara (JMN), including Public Service Department psychology management division director Dr Abd Halim Mohd Hussin, and Youth and Sports Ministry deputy secretary-general Datuk Azhar Mohamed Isa.
    Two persons were conferred with the Johan Setia Diraja (JSD) award, namely Protocol Department's Ceremonial and Entertainment Division principal assistant secretary Abd Razak Abdul Wahab and Royal Malaysian Air Force commanding officer Col Mohd Fadzil Mohd Diah.
    A total of 279 people were presented with the Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN) award, Kesatria Setia Diraja (KSD) award (six), Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN) award (421), Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN) (643), and Bentara Setia Diraja (BSD) award (34).
    Ten people, including special branch officer ACP Ibrahim Lebar, were awarded Pingat Panglima Gagah Berani (PGB) while Special Branch officer Mohd Zahari Sidik and VAT 69 Commando Supt Mancha ak Ata received the Jasa Perkasa Persekutuan (JPP) award. – Bernama
