Ultraman comes to Genting

STOMPING the grounds of the Pavilion KL mall at the Bukit Bintang entrance recently were Ultraman Zero with his Ultra brothers, Ultraman Tiga and Ultraman Ginga.
The trio’s heroic battle with monsters Dark Baltan and Ex Zeton gave locals and tourists at the mall a prelude of the looming confrontation with the full cast of Ultramen that is happening at Resorts World Genting in the Ultraman Live in Genting 2015 show next year.
Present at the media launch were minister and deputy chief of mission Yoshinori Kodama from the Embassy of Japan, Resorts World Genting vice president of promotions and entertainment Kevin Tann and Tsuburaya Productions (creator and copyrights owner of the Ultraman television series) representative Yoshihide Tanaka.
“Resorts World Genting is happy to work with Tsuburaya Productions to bring to Malaysia one of the world’s most-watched television series for over 50 years,” said Tann.
“This upcoming show of Ultraman Live in Genting 2015 will showcase the family of Ultraman with its latest edition of Ultra heroes, such as Ultraman Ginga and Ultraman Zero along with new kaiju monsters as well.
“This show is one of Ultraman’s biggest live show in the world produced by Tsuburaya Productions and it is customised with an all-new story board for the Malaysian audience.”
Tanaka added: “The Ultraman heroes are not just an iconic figure in Japan but also around the world.
“For example, in the television series, Tsuburaya Productions keeps evolving programmes and story boards to reach out to viewers of all ages.
“The objective is to get children involved in the plot, as if they are part of the rescue mission.
“Through this, they will learn about teamwork and coordination.
“As for the adults, they will appreciate the hi-tech stagecraft that comes with well-written scenarios.”
Tanaka also said that the Ultraman Live in Genting 2015 is a completely new story and “it is filled with hope and bravery that offers a great deal of situations that young boys can relate to”.
Watch the Ultra brothers as they take to the stage at the Genting International Showroom from Feb 19 to March 22.
